Regina Riot rolls past Wolfpack 68-0

The Regina Riot opened the 2022 Western Women’s Canadian Football League (WWCFL) season with a convincing 68-0 victory over the visiting Winnipeg Wolfpack at Leibel Field Saturday afternoon. The Riot has never lost to the Wolfpack since the inception of the WWCFL in 2011, although the teams had not met since the 2019 season. The 2020 season fell victim to the Covid-19 pandemic, while the Riot’s 2021 campaign consisted of a three game mini season against the Saskatoon Valkyries.

Next up, the Riot travels to Winnipeg to take on the Manitoba Fearless Sunday, May 15 before battling the defending champion Valkyries May 28 in Saskatoon. The Riot hosts the rematch against the Valkyries Saturday, June 4 at 7 p.m. at Mosaic Stadium to conclude the regular season.

The Riot resumes practicing at the University of Regina Tuesday at 6 p.m.
